Why choose liquid screed
- Fast: big open-plan floors poured in hours, not days
- Self-levelling for a flat finish across the whole floor
- No voids around underfloor heating pipes, so the heat comes through evenly
- Usually laid thinner than traditional screed
It's a strong choice for large open-plan ground floors, extensions with underfloor heating, and commercial floors where speed matters.
How a liquid screed pour runs
Before the pour, the floor is prepared: insulation down, edging strip around the walls and the membrane sealed so the screed can't run under it. We pump the screed in, level it and leave it to set. Doors and windows stay closed for the first day or two so it cures properly.
Cement-based liquid screed
We lay cement-based liquid screed. It takes tiles and other floor coverings well once it's dry. If your architect or engineer has specified a particular product, tell us and we'll work to it.

Questions we get asked
How long before I can walk on liquid screed?
Usually after a day or two, depending on the product and the weather. Floor coverings go down once it's dry enough, which we'll talk you through on the day.
Is liquid screed good with underfloor heating?
It's one of the best options for it. The screed flows right round the pipes with no air gaps, so heat transfers evenly.
Do you do liquid screed in Dublin and Kildare?
Yes. We pour liquid screed all over Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Meath, Offaly and the rest of Leinster.
